For writers

Script editing and dramaturgy rooted in the industry.

I've spent ten years inside UK film and television — in development, production, and financing. That means I bring practical knowledge of what gets made, what gets financed, and what reaches an audience, alongside genuine close reading of the page.

What I offer

How I work with writers

I work across features, shorts, and television — at any stage of development, from early draft to late-stage polish. My approach combines structural rigour with dramaturgical thinking: I'm interested in what a script is trying to do, not just whether it follows convention.

Script Coverage & Notes

A detailed written response to your script — structure, character, tone, voice, and commercial context. Honest and specific. Useful whether you're developing independently or preparing to submit to producers or funding bodies.

Development Drafts

Sustained engagement across multiple drafts. I read each version carefully and give notes that build on what we've already discussed — tracking progress, identifying what's working, and helping you find what isn't yet.

Dramaturgical Consultation

A conversation rather than a document. Useful when a project is at an early conceptual stage and you need a thinking partner rather than a set of notes — someone to test ideas against, trace structural logic with, and challenge assumptions.

Industry Positioning

Drawing on my production and financing background, I can offer perspective on how a project might be packaged, positioned, or pitched — alongside the creative editorial work.

Background

Who I am

I work in UK independent film — across development, production, and the financing structures that hold those together. I understand the commercial pressures that shape what gets made, and I think that understanding makes for better editorial work, not worse.

My MA in French Literature means I also bring a grounding in narrative theory, close reading, and the European theatrical tradition — which informs how I think about dramaturgy in particular.

"Good script notes help a writer see what their script is already trying to be — and give them the tools to get there."
