For students & parents
I offer one-to-one tuition in English, French, and Drama — from entrance exam preparation at 7+ and 11+ through to GCSE and A-Level. Sessions are tailored to each student, calm in pace, and rigorous in content.

I teach subjects I know deeply — both through formal study and through professional practice. That means sessions go beyond exam technique, towards a genuine understanding of language, literature, and performance.
Close reading, analytical writing, creative writing, and essay structure. I work across all levels from primary preparation through to A-Level.
Conversational fluency, grammar, written French, and literary analysis. MA-level subject knowledge applied at the appropriate level for each student.
Dramatic text, performance, devising, and the analytical frameworks required for GCSE and A-Level Drama. Informed by real-world industry experience.
Entrance Preparation
Entrance exams for independent schools at 7+ and 11+ require a specific kind of preparation — structured, unhurried, and attuned to the individual child. I work across English comprehension, verbal reasoning, creative writing, and (where required) interview preparation.
Each student follows a preparation plan built around their timeline, their current level, and the specific demands of their target schools.
The most important thing is that a child feels prepared and calm on the day. Technique follows confidence, not the other way around.
I keep parents informed of progress and flag anything that needs attention — sessions should never be a black box.
Exam technique is useful, but students who understand the subject do better. I teach both together.
About
My academic background is in literature — I hold an MA in French Literature — and I've always believed that the most valuable thing a tutor can offer is a genuine love of their subject, communicated clearly and without condescension.
Alongside my work in film and television, I've taught students across a wide range of levels and have a particular interest in the kinds of analytical and expressive skills that serve students well beyond any single exam.
"A student who understands why a piece of writing works will always outperform one who has only learned what to write."

If you'd like to discuss your child's needs — or your own — I'm happy to have an initial conversation before any commitment. Just drop me a note with a brief outline of the subject, level, and what you're hoping to work towards.
